Summary: In
Mary's world there are simple truths. The Sisterhood always knows best. The
Guardians will protect and serve. The Unconsecrated will never relent. And you
must always mind the fence that surrounds the village; the fence that protects
the village from the Forest of Hands and Teeth. But, slowly, Mary’s truths are
failing her. She’s learning things she never wanted to know about the
Sisterhood and its secrets, and the Guardians and their power, and about the
Unconsecrated and their relentlessness. When the fence is breached and her
world is thrown into chaos, she must choose between her village and her
future—between the one she loves and the one who loves her. And she must face
the truth about the Forest of Hands and Teeth. Could there be life outside a
world surrounded in so much death?
Reasons:
This book has got to be one of
the best I have read in a long time. It is about zombies and lately zombies
have been very much over done but this book is amazing.
I rated this book PG-13 for the
reason of violence more than anything else. They do a lot of killing zombies
and because of the fact that in order to kill a zombie you have to chop their head off
there is a lot of blood and guts.
There are a few cuss words if I
recall correctly but they are few and far between. However, be forewarned the
ending of this book disappointed me a little. I’m sure that is mostly due to my
personality type but I found the ending fairly disappointing. Non-the-less I loved
the book.
However, as always, it is up to
you.
I loved this book, too! And I loved the other books in the trilogy as well. :)
